Heavy Rain

David cage, the creator, director and all-round god of Heavy Rain is, frankly, a nutter. This is a guy who, at points in his career, has had to sleep under his desk as the time constraints of scriptwriting have simply been too much to go home. Subsequently, Heavy Rain is undoubtedly a game that has the ability to leave you aghast at exactly how much effort has been driven into it by Cage and his team.

Listen Up

Anyone going deep in a poker tournament will realise the importance of maintaining focus throughout the entirety of play, as losing concentration for just a moment will mean an early exit and a failure to land the lucrative prize. One way of keeping focused is to listen to music, story books, podcasts or even the complete works of William Shakespeare, in which case you'll want to invest in a decent pair of headphones, just like these...

The Beatles Rock Band

The Beatles Rock Band, the third of the series by Harmonix Music Systems and MTV Games, has been the most hyped video game of the year, and for the most part, it really delivers. The game opens with a fantastic animated video taking you through the Beatles story from their humble beginnings at Liverpool’s Cavern Club through their psychedelic Sergeant Pepper Period. It’s a superbly done piece of film that immediately catapults you into the heart of the game. From the main menu you can go straight into quickplay mode and try your hand at every song, but the real purpose of the game is Story mode, where you can follow the Beatles’ rise and rise; witnessing the hysteria of Beatlemania, their retirement from the road and their final swan song...
