
Phil "The Unabomber" Laak has smashed the Guinness World Record for poker endurance after he played a consecutive 115 hours of live poker at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
Lake reached the existing world record of 78 hours set by Paul Zimbler, and then surpassed it by 37 hours. The record was webcast live during the $10-$20 No Limit Hold'em cash game.
The thought of playing 115 hours of consecutive poker would daunt even the most ardent of poker player. But this feat was exactly what the popular poker player had in mind when he strode into the Bellagio on Wednesday.
This amazing test of character was not only a personal milestone; he donated half of his $6,766 funds to the Camp Sunshine charity, which aids children in Maine who suffer from life-threatening illnesses. He raised additional funds for the charity by selling memorabilia and generating donations.
Laak kept a record of his session through twitter, and his friend and fellow pro Antonio Esfandiari gave moral support by playing a few hands, whilst his actress girlfriend, Jennifer Tilly showed him plenty of encouragement.
